Search revenue grew 17% YoY to $63.3B, while Google Cloud had its fastest growth quarter ever, surging 82% YoY to $24.8B and producing $8.8B of operating income. Net income jumped 298% YoY to $112.1B. On the AI side, the Gemini app reached 950M monthly active users, and Gemini models are now processing 22B API tokens per minute. The one major drag was free cash flow, which turned negative at -$5.8B, marking Google’s first negative FCF quarter in years. Still, this was the company’s strongest revenue acceleration in 3 years, driven by explosive cloud growth and rising AI usage.

2. AMD $AMD and Anthropic have reportedly signed an AI server deal worth tens of billions of dollars, per WSJ. Under the agreement, Anthropic would buy up to 2GW of AMD’s latest-generation Instinct MI450 chips beginning in the first half of 2027. Revenue: $119.7B actual vs. $116.98B expected

Google Cloud Revenue: $24.77B +82% Y/Y, vs. 63-65% expected ($22.2-$22.6B) - this is a very large beat and most material part so far.

Cloud Operating Income: ~$8.81B, implying 35.6% margin vs. 32.9% Q1.

Capex: $44.92B vs ~$44.15B (basically in line).

So initial read through is Google Cloud accelerating growth with expanding margins is genuinely bullish for AI demand.

Their former $180-$190B capex guidance is already extremely large, and as long as we get around these numbers in the earnings call + forward projections...

Should be good to go for $LITE and the other optics/networking trade. (eg. last earnings, they said DC and networking would be ~40% of capex spend).

Hyperscaler earnings transcripts are probably the most important thing to pay attention to with the AI capex trade.

And that should be in 3 minutes.

CPUs were already a bottleneck, following CPU ratios due to AI inference...

But the broader trend of LTAs seems to be appearing from:

- Memory, with $MU, Samsung, $SNDK, and SK Hynix signing DRAM/NAND LTAs.

- Photonics, with $LITE, $COHR signing EML LTAs. And recent Trendforce reports that $AMD and hyperscalers are now pursuing CW LTAs.

Kimi K3 was already in internal evaluation by April/May, before Fable 5 had been available long enough to be a plausibly distilled. I’ll wait for the evidence from the USG if they’ll publish it.

However Kimi already outperformed Fable on BrowserComp, so if K3.1 beats Fable 5 on coding benchmarks, are people going to claim it distilled Fable 6? Obviously it’s not only distillation here.

We have information that Moonshot AI distilled Anthropic’s Fable for the development of its K3 model.

To do this they developed a sophisticated internal platform to conduct large scale distillation against U.S. models, allowing them to quickly switch between multiple methods of access to avoid detection. Moonshot AI has also acquired GB300-equipped servers and has accessed GB300s in Thailand, likely to train its AI models.
 
The United States strongly supports the free and fair development of AI, including a thriving competitive ecosystem that spans frontier models, specialized systems, open-source frameworks, and open-weight models. Legitimate AI distillation used to create smaller, more efficient models plays a vital role in this open innovation ecosystem. However, large-scale, covert industrial distillation aimed at stealing proprietary U.S. technology and undermining American research is unacceptable.

结果 Hugging Face 那边,发现有人疯狂在它们系统里操作,几万次动作,明显不正常,才觉得自己被黑客黑了,赶紧调查。

而在调查过程中,Hugging Face 想用美国最强的 AI 大模型,来帮忙分析攻击日志、恶意代码,结果被安全措施挡住了,因为模型一看是分析黑客攻击的需求,直接拒绝,说这个因合规问题,我不能帮你解决。

最终 Hugging Face,不得不转用中国开源的大模型 GLM 5.2,放在自己服务器上跑,去筛查到底谁黑了我们,它到底在干啥。

于是这场闹剧变成了,Hugging Face 被一家美国公司的 AI 模型自主入侵。然后 Hugging Face 试图用美国 AI 模型来保护自己,但被拒绝。然后 Hugging Face 不得不转用中国开源 AI 模型,来防御一家美国 AI 模型公司。
