Der CEO von Anthropic behauptet, Moonshot AI habe ein internes, noch nicht veröffentlichtes Modell bzw. dessen Fähigkeiten unerlaubt übernommen und daraus Kimi K3 entwickelt.

Ob das stimmt? Keine Ahnung. Vielleicht. Vielleicht auch nicht. Und vielleicht steckt Opus 5 dahinter – vielleicht auch nicht.

Für mich ist das aber gar nicht der entscheidende Punkt.

Falls der Vorwurf zutrifft, dann wäre Moonshot AI das erste Unternehmen, das ein Modell auf diesem Niveau als Open Source der gesamten Menschheit zugänglich gemacht hat. Das hat bislang niemand getan.

Seit 48 Stunden teste ich Kimi K3 intensiv. Für mich ist es das erste chinesische Modell, das sich bei der täglichen Arbeit wirklich auf Augenhöhe mit OpenAI- und Anthropic-Modellen anfühlt – sowohl im Workflow als auch bei der Qualität der Ergebnisse.

Was mich seit Langem stört: Immer leistungsfähigere Modelle werden hinter immer stärkeren Einschränkungen versteckt. Man hat oft das Gefühl, als würden alle Nutzer pauschal als potenzielle Kriminelle behandelt – als wollten sie ausschließlich Bomben bauen oder Cyberangriffe durchführen. Statt Menschen mit leistungsfähiger KI zu befähigen und Forschung zu beschleunigen, werden Fähigkeiten immer weiter eingeschränkt.

Deshalb finde ich Open Source so wichtig.

Mir ist völlig egal, ob ein starkes Modell aus den USA, Europa oder China kommt. Entscheidend ist, dass Menschen damit lernen, forschen, entwickeln und Innovation schaffen können.

Wenn Kimi K3 zeigt, dass Spitzenmodelle offen zugänglich sein können, dann ist das aus meiner Sicht ein Gewinn für die gesamte KI-Community.

This creates a very dangerous slippery slope for Donald "The Pedophile" Trump. If the sanctions include an oil embargo on China, what happens if an oil tanker carrying oil bound for China is boarded by the US Navy? What happens if that oil tanker is escorted by a Chinese navy combat ship? I don't want to speculate, but stopping an oil tanker bound for China could be seen piracy on the high seas. A confrontation could ensue that results in shots being fired and the beginning of WW3. I just tested unlimited–OCR in a document parsing engine I'm working on. It failed to decode a lot of items that I have been using PiMuPDF + docling and Camelot wired together to do. The small model that Baidu provides to use with it also hallucinated a couple of things. It's not useless tho and works for most common needs.

...liquidity and asset prices have moved in lockstep since 2008, and yes, people who own the assets did just fine. Nobody's arguing that. But word "entire" gets bit greedy.

Two lines both marching up and to the right for fifteen years will look like soulmates whether they've ever actually met or not. But part that picture skips...Fed's been shrinking its book since 2022 and someone forgot to tell the S&P, which kept printing highs anyway. You can watch it on this very chart. That ratio creeping up on the right edge is a falling denominator and a market that "didn't get the memo". Liquidity is a huge piece of this, just maybe not the whole box.
